Sisu Sauna grew out of one simple belief: everyone should have a sauna. We are a Thai-based, family-run workshop with Finnish roots — hand-building saunas the way they are made back home, and supplying the ice baths, chillers and accessories that go with them.
Petteri Stenberg — a Finnish and Swedish citizen who has called Thailand home since 1999 — built his first sauna here in 2016, for his own house. The wood, the heat, the quiet: it brought a piece of home with it. The day it was finished, he knew it shouldn't be a one-off — everyone, he thought, should be able to end the day like this. He kept building, one sauna at a time, and in 2020 what had started as a personal project became a proper company: Sisu Sauna.

“Sisu” is a Finnish word with no clean translation — a kind of quiet strength: grit, patience, and the resolve to do a thing properly and see it through. It is the Finnish character, and it is the standard we hold every build to.
What we make is genuinely Finnish in spirit — real löyly, proper heat, honest wood — and genuinely built in Thailand, by hand. No flat-pack kits, no shortcuts. Every sauna is constructed in our own workshop from carefully chosen materials, the way it's done back home.
Sisu Sauna is a family business, established in 2020. Petteri runs it with his wife, Luck, and their son, William. Our saunas are built in our factory in Surin by a team of six craftsmen; you can see and feel them in person at our showroom in Bang Saen, while the main office keeps everything running behind the scenes. We build two to three saunas a month — fewer in the quiet season — because careful work can't be rushed.
Alongside the saunas, we're developing our own ice shower — engineered and built right here in Thailand, by our engineering team in Saraburi. The plan from here is simple and unhurried: keep building quality saunas, bring the ice shower to market, and reach customers around the world. Steady growth, careful builds, no rush. That's the sisu way.
