Swimming Pool Construction in Thailand

Designed for lifestyles. Built to last a lifetime.

From compact courtyard plunge pools to full-length lap pools — we design, build and equip swimming pools across Thailand with the same quality-first approach we bring to every Sisu project.

Whether you are building a new home, upgrading an existing property or developing a resort, a well-designed swimming pool transforms how you live. It becomes the centre of daily life — a place for morning laps, weekend gatherings, cooling off after a sauna session or simply watching the light change across the water at the end of the day.

At Sisu, we bring the same uncompromising approach to pool construction that defines our sauna and cold therapy work. Every pool we build starts with your space, your lifestyle and your climate. We work with you from concept through to completion — handling design, structural engineering, equipment specification, tiling, plumbing, electrical and commissioning — so you deal with one team from start to finish.

Our pools are constructed from steel-reinforced waterproof concrete, finished with premium ceramic or porcelain tiles and equipped with commercial-grade filtration, sanitation and circulation systems. We build to international standards because cutting corners underground is not something you can fix later.

We build pools for private villas, boutique resorts, fitness facilities, wellness centres and commercial developments across Thailand. Whether you need a 4-metre plunge pool or a 25-metre lap pool, we will design something that fits your site, your budget and the way you actually want to use it.

Options & Features

Custom Design
Every pool is designed from scratch to suit your property, your landscape and how you plan to use the space. No templates. No off-the-shelf shapes forced onto your site. We start with a site survey, discuss your goals and produce 3D concept renders so you can see exactly what you are getting before a single shovel hits the ground.

Steel-Reinforced Concrete Construction
All Sisu pools are built using steel-reinforced waterproof concrete — the gold standard for structural durability in tropical climates. This method allows complete flexibility in shape, depth and features while providing decades of reliable performance.

Premium Tiling and Finishes
Choose from a wide range of ceramic, porcelain, glass mosaic or natural stone tiles. We handle all waterproofing, substrate preparation and tiling to ensure a flawless finish that withstands years of chemical exposure, UV and thermal cycling.

Commercial-Grade Equipment
Every pool is specified with properly sized pumps, sand or cartridge filters, LED lighting and sanitation systems. We match equipment to your pool volume and usage patterns — not the other way around. Options include saltwater chlorination, mineral systems, ozone and UV-C treatment.

Integrated Wellness Design
As Thailand’s leading sauna and cold therapy company, we specialise in combining pools with saunas, steam rooms, ice baths and plunge pools into complete wellness circuits. Hot-cold contrast therapy is one of the most powerful recovery protocols available, and we can design your pool area to support it from day one.

Energy Efficiency
Variable-speed pumps, inverter-driven heating and cooling systems and smart automation reduce running costs significantly compared to traditional fixed-speed setups. We can also integrate solar heating for year-round temperature management.

Turnkey Delivery
One team handles everything — design, permits, excavation, construction, equipment installation, tiling, landscaping integration and commissioning. You get a single point of contact from concept to completion.

Construction Specifications

  • Structure: Steel-reinforced waterproof concrete. Minimum 200mm wall thickness. Waterproof membrane applied before tiling.
  • Filtration: Sand filter or cartridge filter sized to pool volume. Full turnover every 4 to 6 hours for residential. Every 2 to 4 hours for commercial.
  • Circulation: Variable-speed pump matched to pool volume and pipe diameter. Return jets positioned for even water distribution. Skimmer or overflow collection.
  • Sanitation: Saltwater chlorinator (standard recommendation). Mineral swim system available. Ozone and UV-C options for reduced chemical use.
  • Lighting: Underwater LED pool lights. Colour-changing RGB options available. 12V safety-rated transformers.
  • Electrical: All electrical work to international safety standards. ELCB / RCD protection on all pool circuits. Earthing and bonding of all metal components within 1.5m of pool.

All Sisu pool installations are wired to international electrical safety standards. This is non-negotiable.

Pool pump circuits are run on dedicated breakers with ELCB (Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker) or RCD protection rated at 30mA. All metalwork within 1.5 metres of the pool — including reinforcing steel, handrails, ladders, light housings and equipment frames — is bonded to the earth system.

Underwater lighting uses 12V safety-rated transformers installed outside the pool shell. We do not install mains-voltage lighting in or around the water.

Equipment such as pumps, salt chlorinators, automation controllers and heating systems are housed in a dedicated pump room or equipment enclosure, protected from weather and easily accessible for servicing.

For automated pool systems, a single control panel manages filtration schedules, sanitation dosing, lighting and heating. WiFi-enabled controllers with smartphone app access are available for remote monitoring and adjustment.

Single-phase 220V supply is sufficient for most residential pools. Three-phase 380V is recommended for larger commercial installations or pools with heating systems above 10kW.

Service Areas
We build pools across Thailand. Our primary service areas include the Eastern Seaboard (Pattaya, Chonburi, Rayong, Bang Saen), Isaan (Surin, Buriram, Udon Thani, Khon Kaen, Korat), Bangkok and surrounding provinces. For other locations, contact us to discuss your project.

A well-maintained pool is a healthy pool. Here is what to keep on top of.

Water Chemistry
Test water at least twice per week using a reliable test kit. Maintain free chlorine between 1.0 and 3.0 ppm (or equivalent for mineral / ozone systems). Keep pH between 7.2 and 7.6. Total alkalinity should be between 80 and 120 ppm. Calcium hardness between 200 and 400 ppm. Cyanuric acid (stabiliser) between 30 and 50 ppm for outdoor pools.

Filtration
Run your pump long enough to turn over the full pool volume at least once per day. For most residential pools in Thailand, this means 6 to 10 hours of daily filtration. Backwash sand filters when pressure rises 8 to 10 psi above the clean baseline. Clean cartridge filters every 2 to 4 weeks depending on use.

Cleaning
Skim the surface daily. Brush walls and floor weekly to prevent algae buildup. Vacuum or use a robotic pool cleaner as needed. Clean the waterline tiles regularly to prevent calcium and grime buildup.

Equipment Checks
Inspect pump baskets and skimmer baskets weekly — clear any debris. Check for leaks at equipment connections monthly. Inspect and clean salt cell (if fitted) every 3 months. Have a professional service the equipment annually.

Seasonal Notes for Thailand
Rainy season (May to October) dilutes chemicals and introduces contaminants — test water more frequently and adjust chemistry accordingly. Algae growth accelerates in the hot season (March to May) — consider increasing chlorine output or running the pump longer. Leaf debris from surrounding trees is the most common cause of blocked skimmers — keep vegetation trimmed.

Professional Maintenance
We offer monthly maintenance packages covering water testing, chemical dosing, cleaning, equipment inspection and reporting. Contact us for pricing based on your pool size and location.

Q: How much does a swimming pool cost in Thailand?
A: Pool costs depend on size, shape, depth, features and site conditions. As a rough guide, a basic plunge pool starts from around 240,000 THB, while a standard residential pool (6m x 3m) typically ranges from 450,000 to 800,000 THB. Larger, more complex pools with infinity edges, integrated spas or premium finishes will be higher. We provide a detailed, itemised quotation after the design phase so there are no surprises.

Q: How long does it take to build a pool?
A: A small plunge pool takes 4 to 6 weeks. A standard residential pool takes 6 to 10 weeks. Larger or more complex builds can take 10 to 16 weeks. Weather, site conditions and design complexity all affect the timeline.

Q: Do I need a permit to build a pool in Thailand?
A: In most areas, yes. Pool construction typically requires a building permit from your local Tessaban or OrBorTor office. We handle the permit application as part of our service.

Q: What type of pool is best for Thailand’s climate?
A: Concrete pools with saltwater chlorination systems are the most popular and practical choice for Thailand. The tropical climate means pools are used year-round, and saltwater systems reduce chemical handling and are gentler on skin and eyes. For cooling, an inverter chiller can bring pool temperature down for cold therapy or just to make swimming more refreshing in the hot season.

Q: Can you build a pool on a rooftop or elevated structure?
A: Yes, but it requires additional structural engineering. Rooftop and elevated pools need careful assessment of load-bearing capacity, waterproofing and drainage. We work with structural engineers to ensure the design is safe and compliant.

Q: What is the difference between a plunge pool and a swimming pool?
A: A plunge pool is a smaller, shallower pool designed primarily for cooling off, relaxation or cold therapy rather than swimming laps. They are typically 2m to 4m in length and 1.0m to 1.5m deep. They are ideal for smaller properties, courtyards, or as part of a sauna and wellness area.

Q: Can you integrate a pool with a sauna or ice bath?
A: Absolutely — this is one of our specialities. We design complete wellness circuits that combine saunas, steam rooms, ice baths, cold showers and pools into a single, cohesive space. Hot-cold contrast therapy has well-documented benefits for recovery, circulation, sleep and stress reduction.

Q: Do you offer pool heating and cooling?
A: Yes. We install heat pumps for warming the pool during cooler months and inverter chillers for cooling the water during the hot season or for cold therapy use. Solar heating is also available as a low-running-cost option.

Q: What ongoing maintenance does a pool require?
A: Regular water testing and chemical balancing (twice weekly), daily skimming, weekly brushing, filter maintenance and periodic equipment servicing. We offer monthly maintenance packages if you prefer to leave it to the professionals.

Q: Saltwater or chlorine — which is better?
A: Saltwater pools still use chlorine — the salt cell generates it automatically from dissolved salt. The advantage is softer-feeling water, lower chemical handling, reduced skin and eye irritation and more consistent sanitation. The upfront cost is slightly higher but running costs are often lower. We recommend saltwater for most residential pools in Thailand.

Q: Can you renovate or upgrade an existing pool?
A: Yes. We handle retiling, equipment upgrades, converting chlorine pools to saltwater, adding heating or cooling systems, LED lighting upgrades and structural repairs. Contact us with photos and details of your existing pool for an assessment.

Q: Do you service pools outside of the construction areas you listed?
A: We can mobilise to most parts of Thailand for construction projects. For ongoing maintenance, our regular service areas are more limited. Contact us to discuss your location and we will let you know what we can offer.
