This outdoor barrel sauna was built for a remarkable hilltop property in Mae Sai, Chiang Rai — just a short distance from the limestone mountain that became world-famous in 2018 when thirteen young footballers and their coach were rescued from its caves after more than two weeks underground. The view from the sauna platform looks directly toward that mountain, making every session a quietly extraordinary experience.

The barrel measures 2,400 mm in diameter and is crafted entirely from teak, chosen for its natural durability in the humid northern climate. A 9 kW heater powers the session, bringing the chamber up to temperature efficiently even on cooler Mae Sai evenings.

The owners also run Baan Doi, https://baandoi.org/en a children's home and community project on a nearby site — a reminder that this is a place built around care, both for the land and for the people in it.
