Can I use the Ngein outdoors?
Absolutely. Stainless steel is naturally rust-proof and corrosion-resistant, making it ideal for outdoor installation. Position it on a level surface with good drainage. The sleek metallic finish looks stunning beside pools and in garden settings.
Do I need a chiller?
Not necessarily. You can use the Ngein with bags of ice for a more traditional cold plunge experience – typically 20-40kg of ice will bring the water to 5-10°C. However, a chiller maintains your desired temperature automatically, eliminating the ongoing cost and effort of buying ice. For regular use, we recommend adding our Ice Bath Chiller.
How cold can it get?
With our 0.5 HP or 1 HP chiller, you can maintain temperatures as low as 3°C. Without a chiller, temperature depends on ambient conditions and the amount of ice used. Most people find that 5-15°C provides an effective cold-plunge experience.
How do I keep the water clean?
For best results, shower before use and change the water weekly. If using a chiller with filtration, you can extend the shelf life of water to 2-4 weeks. The stainless steel surface is easy to wipe down and won’t stain or absorb odours like porous materials.
What’s the difference between the Ngein and the Ngein Tub?
The Ngein is a horizontal plunge bath where you lie down or recline. The Ngein Tub is a vertical design in which you sit upright, with a more compact footprint. Choose based on your space and preferred plunging position.
