What’s the difference between infrared and traditional saunas?

Traditional saunas heat the air to high temperatures (70-90°C) using a stove and hot stones. Infrared saunas use carbon panels that emit far-infrared rays, heating your body directly at much lower air temperatures (40-65°C). Many people find infrared heat more comfortable and easier to tolerate, while still providing the benefits of deep sweating and relaxation.

Is the Nallak suitable for outdoor installation?

No, the Nallak is designed for indoor use only. The Hemlock timber and electrical components are optimised for indoor environments. If you’re looking for an outdoor sauna, consider our barrel sauna range, the Fah Modern Sauna, or the Teelak Hybrid, which offers both indoor and outdoor installation options.

How is the Nallak different from the Teelak Hybrid?

The Nallak is a dedicated infrared sauna with additional features such as Bluetooth speakers and chromotherapy lighting, perfect for a spa-like experience at home. The Teelak Hybrid offers both infrared AND traditional stove heating options, giving you more flexibility but without the built-in audio and lighting features. Choose the Nallak for a premium infrared experience, or the Teelak for the option of traditional steam sauna sessions.

How long does it take to heat up?

The Nallak reaches operating temperature in just 10-15 minutes – much faster than traditional saunas. This makes it perfect for spontaneous sessions without lengthy pre-heating.

What are the health benefits of infrared saunas?

Far-infrared heat penetrates deeper into the body than conventional heat, potentially offering benefits including improved circulation, muscle relaxation, stress relief, and deep sweating for detoxification. Lower air temperatures also make infrared saunas accessible to people who find traditional sauna heat too intense.

What is chromotherapy?

Chromotherapy uses coloured LED lights to create different atmospheres and potentially support wellbeing. The Nallak includes adjustable colour settings so you can customise your sauna environment – from energising reds to calming blues.

Can I play music in the sauna?

Yes! The Nallak features a built-in Bluetooth speaker system. Simply connect your phone or tablet and enjoy your favourite music, podcasts, or meditation tracks during your session.

Do I need special electrical work?

Most Nallak models (1-3 person) plug into a standard 220V household outlet. The larger 4-person model may require a dedicated circuit – we recommend consulting an electrician for this size.
