Choosing a Heater
Selecting the correct heater size is essential for optimal sauna performance. Use this guide based on your sauna room’s interior cubic volume (length × width × height in metres):
3KW Heater
Suitable for: 3–5 cubic metres
Room example: 1.2m × 1.2m × 2.1m (small 1–2 person sauna)
4.5KW Heater
Suitable for: 4–7 cubic metres
Room example: 1.5m × 1.5m × 2.1m (2–3 person sauna)
6KW Heater
Suitable for: 6–10 cubic metres
Room example: 1.8m × 1.8m × 2.1m (3–4 person sauna)
8KW Heater
Suitable for: 8–14 cubic metres
Room example: 2.0m × 2.0m × 2.1m (4–6 person sauna)
9KW Heater
Suitable for: 9–16 cubic metres
Room example: 2.2m × 2.2m × 2.2m (5–6 person sauna)
Note: For outdoor saunas or rooms with large glass windows, add 20% to your cubic metre calculation when selecting heater size.

Delivery & Installation
Delivery
Free delivery throughout Thailand. Standard delivery timeframe is 3–6 weeks from order confirmation.
Heater and stones ship in separate boxes (2 boxes total).
Installation
Professional electrical installation required. The heater must be hardwired to a dedicated circuit by a licensed electrician.
Sisu Sauna provides installation guidance but does not install standalone heaters. We recommend hiring a local electrician familiar with high-amperage appliance installation.
- Installation typically requires:
- Dedicated electrical circuit (30–40A depending on heater size)
- Appropriate MCB/circuit breaker
- Heat-resistant wiring rated for sauna conditions
- Minimum clearances from walls and ceiling as per the manual
FAQs
FAQs
What size heater do I need for my sauna?
Calculate the interior volume of your sauna room in cubic metres (length × width × height). As a general guide, allow approximately 1KW per 1.5–2 cubic metres. For outdoor saunas or rooms with large windows or glass doors, add 20% to account for heat loss. Use our Heater Size Guide above to match the right heater to your space.
What is the difference between on-stove and external controllers?
On-stove controllers are integrated into the heater body and feature simple dial controls for temperature and a timer. External controllers mount on the exterior wall of the sauna room, providing digital displays and more precise control. External controllers are easier to adjust without entering the hot sauna.
Can I install this heater myself?
The heater requires professional electrical installation by a licensed electrician. While mounting the heater unit is straightforward, connecting to your electrical supply must be done by a qualified professional to ensure safety and compliance with Thai electrical regulations.
How long does the heater take to warm up the sauna?
Expect 30–45 minutes to reach typical sauna temperatures of 80–90°C, depending on room size, insulation quality, and ambient temperature. Larger rooms or poorly insulated spaces may take longer.
Are the sauna stones included?
Yes. Each heater includes 18–22kg of premium sauna stones (shipped in 2 boxes). These volcanic stones are explicitly selected for sauna use and can withstand thermal shock from water contact without cracking.
What electrical supply do I need?
The heater operates on standard Thai 220–240V single-phase power. You will need a dedicated circuit with appropriate amperage (typically 30–40A, depending on heater size) and a correctly rated MCB. Your electrician will assess your electrical panel’s capacity.
Can I use this heater for an outdoor sauna?
Yes, but the heater itself must be installed inside the sauna room, protected from direct weather exposure. For outdoor saunas, choose a heater size 20% larger than the room volume calculation suggests to compensate for heat loss.
Is this heater suitable for commercial use?
This heater is designed for residential and light commercial use, such as small wellness studios, home gyms, or boutique spas. High-traffic commercial facilities that operate continuously may benefit from commercial-grade heaters with higher duty cycles.
What is the warranty?
Heaters include a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. Warranty does not cover damage from improper installation, misuse, or normal wear of heating elements.
What maintenance does the heater require?
Minimal maintenance is required. Periodically check sauna stones for cracking and replace any damaged stones. Ensure the stone tray remains clear of debris. Heating elements may need replacement after several years of regular use, depending on operating frequency.
