The Standard Ice Bath Chiller 2.0HP is our most powerful standalone chiller unit — built for large tubs, heavy daily use, and commercial environments where fast recovery times are non-negotiable.

With 4,980W of cooling capacity, this unit brings 300 litres of water from ambient temperature down to 10°C in roughly an hour. It handles tubs up to 400 litres comfortably, making it the right choice for double-person ice baths, high-traffic wellness centres, gyms, and sports recovery facilities.

The built-in ozone disinfection system runs automatically during each cooling cycle, keeping the water clean between sessions and extending the time between water changes. Dual filtration — one large external cartridge and one internal screen filter — catches sediment and debris before it reaches the compressor.

Set your target temperature between 1°C and 45°C using the unit's touchscreen display, or control it remotely via the Tuya Smart / Smart Life app on your phone. The heating function means this chiller also works as a water heater for contrast therapy setups.

Compatible with any ice bath tub that has inlet and outlet ports. Also works with tubs without ports using the over-the-rim hose method (see installation section below). Transport wheels and carry handles make positioning straightforward despite the 58kg weight.

Comes With:

- 1.0HP chiller unit with touchscreen display
- 2 × connection hoses
- Large filter element (pre-installed)
- 2 × spare filter cartridges
- Filter cover wrench
- 2 × rubber seals
- Warning label
- User manual (English)

Cooling Reference Times:

Test conditions: 22°C ambient temperature, starting water temperature 23°C. Times are approximate and scaled from manufacturer testing data.

200L Tub (single person)
- To 5°C: ~1.5 hours
- To 10°C: ~1 hour
- To 15°C: ~35 minutes

300L Tub (single person)
- To 5°C: ~2.5 hours
- To 10°C: ~1.5 hours
- To 15°C: ~1 hour

Times are approximate and serve as a guide. Actual performance varies with ambient temperature, water volume, insulation, and airflow conditions. Higher ambient temperatures in Thailand will increase cooling times.

Installation

Tubs with inlet and outlet ports (standard setup)

  • 1. Position the chiller on a flat, stable surface near the tub
  • 2. Connect the chiller's water inlet hose to the tub's outlet port (bottom)
  • 3. Connect the chiller's water outlet hose to the tub's inlet port (top)
  • 4. Ensure hose connections are tight with rubber seals in place
  • 5. Fill the tub — water level must be at least 5cm above the chiller's water inlet
  • 6. Set the RCD switch to the "I" (ON) position
  • 7. Power on and set your target temperature

Tubs without inlet and outlet ports (over-the-rim method)

  • 1. Place the water inlet hose at least 10cm below the water level
  • 2. Open the filter cup on top of the chiller and add 500–1,000ml of water to prime the pump
  • 3. Close the filter cup tightly to prevent air leakage
  • 4. Power on — if a water flow fault appears, repeat the priming step

Important Notes

  • Maintain at least 100cm clearance on all sides of the chiller for airflow
  • Do not install in enclosed spaces such as cupboards or storage cabinets
  • The chiller must be grounded before use
  • Test the Residual Current Device (RCD) once a month
  • Turn off the chiller before entering the ice bath
  • If using with a stainless steel or metal tub, insulate the tub to prevent reduced cooling efficiency
  • For self-priming models, only the inlet hose needs to be below water level — the chiller expels air automatically

  • Care & Maintenance

Every 2 Weeks

  • Replace the large filter cartridge (or rinse and reuse if in good condition)
  • Clean the small internal screen filter under running water
  • Test the RCD switch

Monthly

  • Clean the chiller's air intake and exhaust vents — dust and insects accumulate quickly in Thailand's climate
  • Inspect hose connections for leaks or loosening
  • Check the ozone generator indicator light is functioning

Every 3–6 Months

  • Clean the condenser coils by gently brushing off dust and debris — this is the single most impactful task for chiller longevity and efficiency
  • Visually check refrigerant lines for damage or wear

General

  • Keep the unit on a level, stable surface with at least 30cm clearance on all sides
  • Never run the chiller without adequate water level — running the pump dry causes damage and voids the warranty
  • Do not attempt refrigerant repairs yourself — contact us or a qualified technician
  • When the chiller is not in use or being stored, drain all water from the chiller and hoses
  • Do not spray water directly onto the chiller unit

When to Contact Us

  • Water not reaching target temperature despite clean filters and vents
  • Unusual noises from the compressor or pump
  • Error codes on the touchscreen
  • Ozone generator not activating
  • Water flow fault that persists after priming
  • Any leaks from fittings or the chiller unit

Q: What size ice bath does this chiller suit?

A: The 1.0HP is ideal for single-person tubs up to 300 litres. It'll work with larger tubs but cooling times increase significantly. For double-person tubs or tubs over 400 litres, consider the 2.0HP chiller instead.

Q: Can I use this chiller with any ice bath tub?

A: Yes. It connects directly to tubs with inlet and outlet ports via the included hoses. For tubs without ports, use the over-the-rim hose method — instructions are included in the user manual and our installation guide above.

Q: Does the chiller also heat water?

A: Yes. The temperature range is 1–45°C, so it functions as both a chiller and a heater. This makes it suitable for contrast therapy protocols where you alternate between cold and warm water.

Q: How loud is it?

A: Comparable to a small air conditioning outdoor unit. The compressor cycles on and off to maintain your set temperature, so it's not running continuously. Indoor installation in a separate utility area is recommended if noise is a concern.

Q: How often do I need to change the water?

A: With the ozone system running and filters maintained, water stays clean for 2–4 weeks depending on usage. Heavy daily use or multiple users requires more frequent changes. Always shower before entering the ice bath to extend water life.

Q: What power supply does it need?

A: 220–240V / 50-60Hz — standard Thai household power. No special wiring required. The unit draws approximately 1,160W during operation, similar to a medium-sized air conditioner.

Q: Can I install this outdoors?

A: Yes, but keep the chiller protected from direct rain and sunlight. A covered area or weather shelter is recommended. Ensure adequate ventilation — do not enclose the unit. During Thailand's hot season, expect slightly longer cooling times due to higher ambient temperatures.

Q: What does the WiFi app do?

A: The Tuya Smart or Smart Life app lets you monitor water temperature, set target temperature, adjust ozone timing, and power the unit on or off remotely from your phone. Available on iOS and Android.

Q: What's the difference between the 1.0HP and 2.0HP?

A: The 2.0HP has roughly 60% more cooling capacity (4,980W vs 3,150W), so it cools faster and handles larger tubs. The 1.0HP is more compact, lighter, and uses less power — making it the better choice for single-person home setups where fast recovery between back-to-back sessions isn't critical.

Q: What warranty is included?

A: 1-year warranty on electrical components with replacement unit delivered to your location. 1-year structural warranty. Coverage excludes normal wear, unauthorised modifications, or accidental damage.
