Installation

After Each Session
- Wipe bench surfaces with a dry towel to remove moisture
- Leave door ajar for 15-30 minutes to ventilate
- Empty any water from bucket
Weekly Tasks
- Sweep or vacuum the slatted floor
- Wipe benches with damp cloth (water only)
- Check heater stones are properly stacked
- Clean door glass inside and out
Monthly Attention
- Scrub benches with soft brush and mild soap, rinse well
- Sand any rough spots with fine sandpaper (180-220 grit)
- Inspect door hinges and seals
- Check steel bands remain properly tensioned
Seasonal Care
- Inspect exterior timber for weathering
- Apply timber oil to exterior surfaces (Red Cedar and Thermowood benefit from annual treatment)
- Check steel band tension — adjust if timber has settled
- Have electrical connections inspected by qualified electrician
- Replace heater stones when they begin to crumble (typically 1-2 years)
Avoid
- Harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners inside the sauna
- Sealing interior timber — it must breathe
- Leaving wet items inside between uses
- Over-tightening steel bands — allow for natural timber movement
- Excessive water on heater — gentle steam only
