The Sisu Ice Bath Chiller 1.0HP is a mid-range chiller built for large single-person tubs and standard double-person setups holding 300–600 litres. It delivers reliable cooling with enough power to handle daily home use and light commercial environments.

With 2,450W of cooling capacity (variable up to 3,730W), this unit uses inverter-compressor technology to adjust output based on demand—cooling efficiently to maintain temperature and ramping up when you need it. The result is lower energy consumption and quieter operation compared to fixed-speed compressors.

Set your target temperature between 3°C and 42°C using the TFT touchscreen on the unit, or control it remotely via the Tuya Smart app on your phone. The heating function means this chiller also works as a water heater for contrast therapy setups.

An internal water filter keeps debris out of the system, and ozone disinfection is available as an optional add-on to extend the life of the water between changes. Quick-connect fittings on the hoses make installation and disconnection straightforward — no tools required for the water connections.

At 40kg with carry handles and transport wheels, the unit is manageable to position. The compact footprint fits neatly beside most tub setups without dominating the space.

Installation

Important: After transportation, leave the chiller upright on a stable surface for 24 hours before first use to allow the refrigerant gas to settle.

Tubs with inlet and outlet ports (standard setup)

• 1. Place the chiller on a stable surface near the tub, at the same level as the bathtub
• 2. Install the filter lid on top — ensure it is hand tight
• 3. Ensure the built-in filter is installed
• 4. Install the valves on the tub's inlet and outlet — ensure hand tight
• 5. Connect the water pipes between chiller and tub using the quick connectors — chiller inlet to tub outlet, chiller outlet to tub inlet
• 6. Fill the tub — water level must be higher than the chiller inlet and lower than the tub inlet
• 7. Plug in and switch on the RCD, then power on the chiller
• 8. Check the water flow reading on the touchscreen — it should be higher than 15L/min
• 9. If both tub ports are below water level and water flow is low, open the drainer briefly to release trapped air, then close it

Tubs without inlet and outlet ports

• 1. Place the water inlet hose at least 10cm below the water level in the tub
• 2. Open the filter cup on top of the chiller and add 500–1,000ml of water to prime the pump
• 3. Close the filter cup tightly to prevent air leakage
• 4. Power on — if a water flow fault appears, repeat the priming step

Important Notes

• Maintain at least 100cm clearance on all sides of the chiller for airflow and ventilation
• Do not install in enclosed spaces such as cupboards, closets, or storage cabinets
• The chiller must be grounded before use
• Test the Residual Current Device (RCD) at least once a week
• Turn off the chiller before entering the ice bath
• Do not extend the water hoses — longer hoses reduce flow rate and cooling efficiency
• Ensure the power socket and chiller do not come into contact with water while the tub is in use

• Care & Maintenance

Filter Maintenance

• Replace the paper filter element when it becomes dirty or when a water flow warning appears on screen. Check the filter first whenever water flow drops below 14L/min.
• Clean the built-in mesh filter once a month — open the lid with the wrench, remove the mesh filter, rinse under running water, replace, and tighten. Close the tub valves before cleaning.
• Always power off the chiller and switch the RCD to OFF before replacing filters or cleaning the built-in filter.

Every 3 Months

• Clean the dust-proof net (condenser) to maintain cooling and heating efficiency. This is the single most impactful task for chiller longevity.

General

• Never clean the chiller with bleach-based detergents
• Do not put corrosive disinfectants (such as chlorine tablets) into the water
• Always disconnect from power before any maintenance or cleaning
• Never put the chiller outside in temperatures below 1°C when it has water inside
• When not in use for extended periods, open the drain outlet to empty all water from the chiller and hoses
• Do not place the chiller in direct sunlight or rain — use a shelter or our timber weather box
• Do not spray water directly onto the chiller unit
• Keep the chiller upright at all times — never invert

A: The 1.0HP is designed for tubs holding 300–600 litres — large single-person and standard double-person setups. For smaller tubs (200–400L), the 0.8HP is sufficient. For commercial or XL setups, consider the 2.0HP.

Q: Can I use this chiller with any ice bath tub?

A: Yes. It connects directly to tubs with inlet and outlet ports via the included quick-connect fittings. For tubs without ports, use the over-the-rim hose method — instructions are included above and in the user manual.

Q: Does the chiller also heat water?

A: Yes. The temperature range is 3–42°C, so it functions as both a chiller and a heater. This makes it suitable for contrast therapy where you alternate between cold and warm water.

Q: How loud is it?

A: The inverter compressor adjusts its speed based on demand, so it runs quieter than fixed-speed units — especially when maintaining temperature rather than cooling down from ambient. Comparable to a small air conditioning outdoor unit. Indoor installation in a separate utility area is recommended if noise is a concern.

Q: How often do I need to change the water?

A: Every 2–4 weeks with regular filter maintenance. Heavy daily use or multiple users requires more frequent changes. If ozone disinfection is installed, water stays cleaner for longer. Always shower before entering the ice bath to extend water life significantly.

Q: What power supply does it need?

A: 220–240V / 50-60Hz — standard Thai household power. The unit draws up to 6.5A (approximately 1,060W typical), so no special wiring is required.

Q: Can I install this outdoors?

A: The chiller is IPX-4 rated, but we still recommend keeping it protected from direct rain and sunlight. A covered area, weather shelter, or our timber weather box provides the best protection. Ensure adequate ventilation — do not enclose the unit.

Q: What does the WiFi app do?

A: The Tuya Smart app lets you monitor water temperature, set target temperature, adjust ozone timing, schedule power on/off times, and control the unit remotely. Available on iOS and Android. Note: the app only supports 2.4GHz WiFi networks.

Q: What's the difference between the 1.0HP and 2.0HP?

A: The 2.0HP has roughly double the cooling capacity (5,000W vs 2,450W), so it cools faster and handles larger tubs and commercial environments with back-to-back sessions. The 1.0HP is more compact, lighter, and uses less power — making it the better choice for home setups and tubs up to 600 litres.

Q: Is ozone disinfection included?

A: Ozone disinfection is available as an optional add-on for this model. If installed, the ozone cycle runs automatically and can be adjusted from 0–5 minutes via the touchscreen or app.
